I'm not a fan of Disney. There, I've said it.
I appreciate it hugely but beyond The Aristocats and Robin Hood (which I LOVE) I'm not big on the old Princess meets Prince narrative. This said, the dress* I'm wearing in this post DID make me feel very much like a Disney princess and I did enjoy this, so maybe now's the time to re analyse my whole life...

TALL GIRLS TAKE NOTE! This dress is mid-calf length and actually IS mid-calf length, also, the waist is actually cut to fit my waist as opposed to somewhere up around my boobs. In fact, the overall shape of this dress is utterly perfect for my body shape (hourglass with large bust and hips) but is one that I've always avoided because I'm a renegade - I really wish I hadn't because the triple layered skirt and sweetheart neckline make me feel phenomenal. I've also avoided cut-out backs in the past because it can limit bra choices but this design takes us larger busted women into consideration and this isn't an issue at all.
With regards to fit, this is a 16 and I would class the fit as incredibly true to size, taking into account that there is no stretch at all. The skirt's given its shape with a mesh layer sandwiched between two satin layers to avoid that itchy scratchy feeling. There is also thin padding to the bust which gives support and a smooth hourglass shape.
Finally: The colour, OH the colour; pastel blue is one of my absolute favourites but I find it incredibly difficult to wear without looking too much like a nurse. I think we can all safely say: I don't look like a nurse. It honestly seems to me that an awful lot of thought has gone into the design of this dress, I don't know if this is the same across the board with Chi Chi dresses but I'll certainly be keeping my eye on them for any events in the future.
I've worn the dress here with a pair of burgundy floral hair grips that I bought to for a burlesque night. I find hair clips infinitely easier to wear than a fascinator or one of these floral crown malarkeys which just make me look like I'm trying far too hard or live in a constant Snapchat filter... I think this look could work beautifully for a wedding (guest not bride) (Unless you want to in which case, YES) though I think I'd potentially struggle to fit down the pews...
In other news, I'm epically sunburnt. This is the one and only time that I'd recommend this advice but; Learn from my mistakes guys.
